>Unconditional love a.k.a. Mother... :)
Been listening to the song "lukka chuppi" from u know it... ya... Rang De Basanti...
Its been almost 8 months since I left home... been here in the US, trying to study, to get somewhere in life, to settle, to accomplish a dream...
My mom used to ask me (jab main chota tha) what I would want to become after I grew up... I would say I wanna become a scientist... now, I look at myself and see that it might take me just another 4 yrs to make those words come true... :)
I dont even wanna imagine my mom's feelings after those 4 yrs... I just want to see it... I am sure its happiness to the utmost ever possible... thats probably the least I could do to her...
yahan sab kuch hai maa phir bhi... lage bin tere mujhko akela... how apt are those lyrics from the song...
Havent slept at all this night... most part of the night went away in listening to this song over and over again... Its one of the best starts to a day I could have ever had... The weather looks great outside... and it has started on an amazing note deep inside... :) Couldnt get better...
I miss you, I love you amma... u r the best...

>Version 10.00.00.4058
Its 6:10 AM and here I am listening to the radio on one of those duper softwares that lets u listen to radio online (thats kinda cool)...
Now, I realize that the radio plays using a Windows Media Player plugin. I have always been a fan of the WMP coz of its cool (though limited) features... It does a great job playing most kind of files... and its ease-of-use makes it more... hmm... easy to use, i guess hehe... (but, somehow I still stick to WMP version 10 coz version 11 kinda sucks)
So, where was I?? oh haan... so, now that the realization dawned... I opened the radio window and expanded it... there you go... I see the best part of the mediaplayer... the visualization...
I love watching the Ocean Mist visualization (under Bars and Waves)on WMP, FULL SCREEN... its soo cool... I've seen many other players with a lot of other visualizations... but, none to beat the Ocean Mist of WMP...
Its still kinda dark here... and the only light glowing across the room is from the monitor... so, the best part of this visualization is when u can watch it in the dark... FULL SCREEN... each fine line jumping up with a different beat of the song...
Mixing music has been one of my hobbies... so, obviously the Ocean Mist intrigues me so much... I tried to understand the logic behind how these lines move with the music... I tried to write a program for it too... I tried... :P
Its sooo much fun just watching the visualization... Soothes my mind... so much peace... I could do it all day...
Also, its twin brother (Firestorm) is also cool... Its fun to watch this guy when u are all pumped up and ready for a battle... hehe... (Firestorm - the name says it all)
WMP u r the best... (call me biased, as if I care... :P)

>Attitude...
I got this e-mail today from my uncle... one of the best ones I've ever come across...
An old man lived alone in Minnesota . He wanted to spade his potato garden, but it was very hard work. His only son, who would have helped was in prison.
The old man wrote a letter to his son and mentioned his situation:
Dear Son,
I am feeling pretty bad because it looks like I won't be able to plant my potato garden this year. I hate to miss doing the garden, because your mother always loved planting time. I'm just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot. If you were here, all my troubles would be over. I know you would dig the plot for me, if you weren't in prison.
Love,
Dad
Shortly, the old man received this telegram:
For Heaven's sake, Dad, don't dig up the garden!! That's where I buried the GUNS!!
At 4 a.m. the next morning, a dozen police officers showed up and dug up the entire garden without finding any guns.
Confused, the old man wrote another note to his son telling him what happened, and asked him what to do next.
His son's reply was:
Go ahead and plant your potatoes, Dad, It's the best I could do for you from here.
Moral:NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE IN THE WORLD, IF YOU HAVE DECIDED TO DO SOMETHING DEEP FROM YOUR HEART YOU CAN DO IT. IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE THOUGHT THAT MATTERS...
Ability is what you're capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.

>Love demanded sacrifice?? maybe it did not in this case...
Taj...
Taj... the feather in the culture cap of India... a symbol of love... built by Shahjahan about 400 years ago for his beloved Mumtaz mahal... THE rare jewel in the glorious Indian history... was one of the wonders of the world... voted again recently as one of the new 7 wonders of the world...
Anything Ironical??
yes, there is irony attached to this monument of love...
- All the 22,000 workers who were employed lost more than what they gained out of building this monument. Shahjahan made sure he had the hands of all of these workers chopped off, just because THEY SHOULDN'T BUILD ANOTHER TAJ MAHAL??? looking at it from this perspective, Taj Mahal looks more bloody than any other monument in the world, and nowhere near to what its called now, a symbol of love.
I agree, there is nothing to beat this monument's beauty... it is one of the most beautiful man-made structures in the world and the locale makes it even more appealing to the eye.
The beauty of this monument is just the present and the future... and it will forever remain beautiful... but, its past might not be the brightest... which is to be agreed upon...
I voted for the Taj when it was in the race for being one of the 7 wonders again... I voted for it because of its beauty and the dynasties and kingdoms it has withstood and seen since it has been built but surely not for the "making of the Taj" chapter it carries...
You might not agree or may be you do... whatever it is, do leave your comments...

>Blogging!!
A place to unwind, a place to relax after a long day, a place to pen down everything that you saw, heard or felt that day and often relating it to something that happened in the past too...
A virtual diary that you could maintain, for people to read your thoughts, for you to read and analyze yourself, to retrospect and learn, to relearn what you might have forgotten down the lanes of time...
To get nostalgic, to get angry on yourself, to laugh at yourself, maybe even to shed a few tears once in a while...
Blogging was never my cup of tea... though it became, just a few months back... and I am enjoying my cup very much...
Saw the power of blogs right from the time when Tsunami hit us!
Makes me feel happy that I blog too... just a thot I wanted to share... coz, i guess blogs is all about thots... right?

>07/07/07
Here is another day... an important day? not so important? shud it be important?
depends how ur life has changed on that day... could have some memories associated with it... or could have been just another day...
but whatever it is, this day will never come back in my lifetime atleast... 07/07/07
Important in its own way... n yet its ur own perspective to decide on that...

>Summer of a lifetime...
It was 102 F today... that is hmm... about.. hmm... wait, lemme calculate... about 39 C... not as hot as it could get, back home... but, hot enof to keep u sweating continuously... and ironically - it was fun... reminded me of my home town... reminded me of the time when we used to play cricket through out the day in the summer heat... ah... those were the days...
big cricket ground... get up early in the morning... walk 2 miles to get to the ground... (oh, btw, fix up a bet match the previous night)... our bowling getting slogged by the opposition... and the last man in our team putting up a resistance... (the last man always used to be a kiddo, hehe)
the icecream hawker... the sugarcane juice shop under the tree...
NOSTALGIC man!!!!
those were the best days of my life...

>mountains n rivers... an expedition of 4 guys n a ghoda... ;)
It all started when we drove to Walmart... n then to Old Navy... 5 of us... Baan, Nattu, Ghoda, Bhendi n moi... ate n shopped at Walmart, then shopped again at Old Navy...
Just like the wind outside, the idea flashed across Baan's mind... "Lets go to Madison river"... 30 miles was the reply when I asked Bhendi how far it was...
Our plan for the day was totally different... go eat @ Walmart n get back n play some pool... n finally we did end up in the pool... a natural swimming pool...
The drive was cool... with just one phone-cam to take pictures... driver Baan drove the 40 minutes to the river... The rain tried to dampen our spirits, but little did it know that it was actually helping us in the process of getting drenched...
Bhendi n Ghoda were the first to get naked (well almost..., had their chaddis on)... and also the last ones too... They were in the water in a flash... n the rest of us were either too cold or just didn't have spare clothes...
Anyway, pictures galored, though with just a phone-cam. Anupam drenching Baan, Bhendi posing his "puja" off, Nattu showing off his muscles... n me taking all these pics...
A pair almost got separated right in front of our eyes, if it wasn't for me... I am talking about a pair of slippers... Anupam's... it was fun running into the river to retrieve them...
Then came the climbing time... a small hill (I wouldn't call it a hill... too small for it)... went up n snapped a few more pics there... and catching a few wonderful views... Bozeman is beautiful...
Finally, homecoming... pulling Anupam's leg as usual... ayyo, ghode teri... hehe... don't want him to read this post... do i... ;)
Legend:
Ghoda : Anupam (ghoda means... a horse)
Baan : Anirban
Bhendi : Prashant
Nattu : Natraj
Moi : Me, Vamsee

>just a moody scribble...
I often stand still, always making a futile effort to absorb all the "fragrant colors" of those tall, dark and handsome beings. I luv to touch them, feel their touch on me, experience the ecstacy. Alas, so near, yet so far.
Once in a while I do get to see them "naked". But, the joy increases manifold seeing them getting dressed and rediscovering their magnificience.
I work for them here... The office is always a busy place. Lots of paperwork going on. I do a part of the cleaning process, though I mainly manage the food section. I ensure that I give the quality of service they deserve. I also am a part of the orphanage maintained by them. They are pretty busy... quite a few vistors everyday.
Occassionally, visitors are invited to breakfast, lunch or dinner, which ever is feasible and sometimes even for a stay. And I get to do most of the work during these sessions. The guests talk to me, quite a few times. Most of them are nice, but a few are real crooks. I do find a few gazes fixed on the children of the orphanage. I have my doubts on these crooks about a few missing children.
Summer is a busy season for me, a cart-load of pressure always on the food section. I just manage to make the ends meet. The only respite is that the cleaning section isn't much of a problem during this time.
I get the privilege to catch them in their varying moods during work. Sometimes, I see them going green with envy, sometimes red with anger. Whatever their mood be, they are absolutely amusing to watch, totally engrossed in their work, not a minute to spare. This is the part that makes me stand there and watch them, touch them, feel their touch on me, enjoy the ecstacy.
I am the water.
>tubelight???
One of the brightest thoughts I've ever got... n I literally mean brightest...
Many a time, u've shown me the light...
Didn't, let me get lost in the night...
Spent your brilliance to make me bright...
Oh my own! my very own! my dear TUBELIGHT!!!
